The objectives of the fib are to develop at an international level the study of scientific and practical matters capable of advancing the technical, economic, aesthetic and environmental performance of concrete construction. Theme this year is ‘High-tech concrete: Where technology and engineering meet!’

This year’s symposium topics are

  • Materials technology
  • Modeling, testing and design
  • Special loadings
  • Safety, reliability and codes
  • Existing concrete structures
  • Durability and life time
  • Sustainability
  • Innovative building concepts
  • Challenging projects
  • Historic concrete

Practical information

When?         June 12th until June 14th

Co-authors are Rob Polder (TNO) and Marc Ottelé (Heijmans Infra). An approach will be proposed to determine the minimum remaining life time of reinforced concrete structures for the case that chloride induced corrosion of the reinforcement is limiting. The procedure is applied to a field case and the results are discussed.
